Zakinthos (Zante)

Zakinthos (Zante)
Zakinthos, also called Zante, is one of the largest Ionian Islands located off the Western coast of Greece. Like its more well-known neighbor to the North, Corfu, the island is blessed with lush vegetation and delicate beauty. The whitewashed town greets visitors with shops and cafes, while unspoiled beaches on the Western shore tempt sun worshippers and sea bathers.
Shopping
The Central Shopping Mile is the Alexander Roma Street in Zakynthos Town. You'll find shops with the well-known proprietary articles (leather goods are cheaper than in other European countries). Jewelery also is available at interesting prices. But especially the existence of the old, traditional stores, e.g., barber shops, tailors, etc. will make your shopping tour a varied experience. These shops are located also in the surrounding areas of the Alexander Roma Street.Currency
The Euro (EUR), the currency of the European Union, is the official currency of Greece.
