Lunenburg is blessed more than just the exquisite landscape granted by Mother Nature. There is an exceptional trail system including the Bay to Bay Trail connecting the towns of Mahone Bay and Lunenburg. Not to mention the endless stretches of back roads that meander lazily around coves and inlets, nooks and crannies.
The Ovens Natural Park so unique. Every year, thousands of park visitors hike the spectacular trails along the cliffs to view the famous sea caves, or "Ovens" for which the park was named.
Our diverse coastline and island studded bays have made the South Shore of Nova Scotia a haunt for Sea Kayakers. Guided kayak tours and rentals are available from local businesses.
Currency
In Canada, the Canadian dollar (CAD) is the official currency. Credit cards are widely accepted and often offer a good exchange rate. In all of Canada, a 7% Goods & Services Tax (GST) must be paid on all transportation, accommodation, restaurant meals, and just about anything else you purchase, right down to a pack of gum.
